Welcome to Post Traumatic Stress Sufferers and System abuse Victims Steering Group. This group is based in Newport, South Wales (uk) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is defined as an illness or disorder which is triggered by an emotionally distressing event which is outside the range of normal human experience. The chances are that sometime in your life you may experience some kind of trauma. Hopefully, although the episode is painful and distressing, you will be able to cope without the experience causing lasting problems. Occasionlly however, you may encounter a trauma so great that feelings of intense fear and helplessness occur. As a result you may experience Post Traumatic Stress. Over time some people may devlop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD does not respect age, culture or gender.
